Podcast 451 #69 – The Pros and Cons of Listening to Podcasts

facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedinmailby feather

Hey there! On this episode, Zoe and I talk about a slightly touchy subject. Do listening to podcasts on writing, marketing and publishing, do more harm than good? How should you filter information on the podcasts you listen to? How to take something a non-fiction author says on a podcast and make it relevant to a fiction author’s plan. These are just some of the things that we talk about.

    I totally enjoyed this episode.
Thanks for answering my question so fully and humorously. :-D
I had no idea that’s what “451″ meant.
I like clever stuff like that.

Thank you for this episode! I have been writing and listening to writing podcasts for a while, but have not actually published anything yet. A couple weeks ago, I was beginning to write and I just started getting anxiety. It’s like I have been putting so much pressure on myself to get my writing career started and do things “the right way” that I haven’t focused properly on why I want to write in the first place… because I enjoy it! I started drawing a blank because in the back of my mind, all of these concerns started coming up about if I was writing the right thing, or if I should outline or if I should just find the story as I go along. Now, I’ve decided I’m going to take a break from “analysis paralysis,” and just go about enjoying doing things my way, whether I fail or not.
P.S. I just saw the Blackstar Canyon 4.3 cover! Zoe always does an amazing job, but this one is absolutely spectacular!
